John Stossel makes the case that we should pay for own healthcare. What a shocking notion!

Great to see people are waking up and realising that we’ve been scamed.
I’m in the younger generation, (17) but I don’t go around asking for exactly what has made health care expensive
We hope you get the fuck out of America as soon as possible. Take your lame ass to Canada please. You sound like a friggin moron and the sooner shitbag losers like you leave, the better we will be.
Dont forget to punch your mom in the face for giving birth to you.

Thanks to Stossel for bringing some common sense to the cost of health care issue. Having third party payers (Insurance Companies) has caused the prices to get out of control. Why not get rid of insurance all together for routine health care? It should only exist for catastrophic medical care. The prices would then come down.
Fair enough. Let me actually make you see a different light. I have nothing against younger people becoming political advocates PROVIDED they know what they’re talking about. (Historically, it has always been the youth that have led Marxist revolutions.)
American healthcare is terrible. The government regulates the fuck out of every aspect of it. If free markets and free people are allowed to exist in the medical profession, the US would have the finest healthcare in the world.
maybe you should stop discouraging the younger generation from having an opinion and being able to voice it, it is people like you that make people not want to speak up for what they believe in. But thank you for your opinion, you made me see a diff. light..
Socialized medicine doesn’t work. Free markets do. Money and greed are misnomers. You’re only a teenager. Get off the surf board and go read an economics book.
Fuck USA health care. we live in a society that is obseesed and is money hingry.. i live in hawaii, and it is a beautiful place, i am also a teen and when i am older, i would prefer tolive in canada, because they have socialized medicine, something that we should have, I think that our politicians are corrupt, having to be bought off from the insurance companies in order for them to change the medical policies, to save their companies money.. what about saving someone life?
If you put money into an account in the amount people pay for insurance, taxes for healthcare and are awarded by their jobs, you would probably have enough money bar a serious illness, which people could get insurance for, but pay for everything else out of pocket. I have no health insurance, my doctor visit was $60 and she gave me a free sample of antibiotics, yet people will spend $100 on a haircut, $30 on a DVD, $60 on a video game. People take healthcare for granted.
you down with o.p.p,( yeah you know me) you down with o.p.p,( yeah you know me)

The Scott Brown SCATTER..
I think Stossel needs a longer and more in depth segment about health care done in Fox News. Health care is a very complex issue and 6 minute videos are not enough to hammer the point across.
Wow! cant anyone spell anything right on this page! Or make a well formed sentence? I am open to hear every ones ideas, however, I cant do this if you spell things wrong. It makes you look uneducated and apathetic. Please make your ‘informed’ comments at least look like you care about this important issue.
@musakguru
Well English is not my native language. So I think I both spell quite well and have a decent level of grammar. I didn’t double-checked as I was not aware that spelling was a necessary requirement in a Youtube comment. I still think the point was quite decent.
Have a good day too.
you spelled surgery and simplifying wrong. And ‘while does are’ makes no sense. Also ‘well runed public health. . . ‘ Wouldn’t well RAN system be better? Im just saying that if you want to make a good point and have people really take you seriously, good spelling and grammar are usually in order.
Have a good day.
This is over symplifing… it has some good point showever must medical interventions are too expensive for even a middle class person be able to afford. Even a simple cirgury can cost thousands of dollars. Most people don’t have that money.
The great difference between food or shelter is while does are predictable expenses medical expenses are mostly unpredictable.
The best solution is a well runed public health system available to everyone.
I work at a dental office. If a patient has insurance and wants to know how much insurance will pay for an extraction, I say ” I don’t know. It’s based on your deductibles and what insurance figures once it gets the claim”. If they’re out of pocket, I can simply tell them $138 all together. Insurance is just a plain headache to deal with.
and people boycotted “Wholefood” because the owner was against universal healthcare.
Lasik is a luxery and NOT a necessity. That’s why insurance won’t pay for it
darlena1956,
“just too many lawyers.”
and
No political competence to simply let good ol free market competition do its thing. We are losing our free society by the day.
It would be great if ALL of the issues regarding health care could be put on the table just as Stossel is doing. The problem is that if he were a political figure he would have people shouting him down any time he went against the status quo.
No we do not have a great health care system. We have the worlds greatest technology but our delivery system is complete bat shit.
75,000 die unnessarily? Who and from what and where and why? Yes, we do have a great health care system, just too many lawyers.
